February 09, 2009 [sv1.0.38.6.test]

Attention TEST Toons!

The wait is over! Let the Parties begin!
Toons may only host one party at a time
Once a party is scheduled it cannot be changed (date/time, activities etc), except for making a private party public.

Private parties are invite only (and one can only invite Friends in current Friends List). Public parties are open to all comers up to a limit, and the list of public parties are available at any Party Gate entrance.
Cancelling a planned party will only refund 95% of the cost, so plan wisely!

Please let us know what you think of this new feature, and tell us of any issues or bugs via Report A Bug

February 10, 2009 [sv1.0.38.7.test]

  • Fixed bug which allowed a Boarding Group leader to press the “GO” button on the Boarding Group GUI after the group has boarded an elevator/golf kart.
  • Fixed bug which caused change in Party status to sometimes not be properly reflected (started, ended, changed between Private and Public).
  • Fixed server crash resulting from Party Cannon scores higher then 100.
  • Fixed issue with Party Host name sometimes not properly fitting the sign under the Party Clock

Thanks to Lady Di over on Toontowncentral for this bit of news.

Cars Online “Snap it’s a patch”

Over at Cars Online Forums I saw there was an update to Cars Online.

disney-cars-ramoneOh snap, indeed!

Captain Cal here and I again bring you the latest patch notes for the ever-awesome World of Cars Online.  Now, I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking, “Cal, how is it that you can maintain such awesomeness and not explode from so much awesomeness?”

I have to tell you, it’s not easy.

I spent a lot of time practicing before I took this job, and even then I had to take some time to really learn how to control such epic awesome.  None the less, I persevere for you guys.  I really do and I think it’s been worth it.  I see you guys out there on the tracks, training and kicking tailpipe and I think to myself, “Daa-GUM, I’m gonna have to step up the awesome.”

It’s true.  Anyway, how about the latest patch notes?  Before you get crackin’ on these things, let me just point out the first point in the notes.  A lot of you have sent us feedback regarding the artwork on the collectable Badges in the game.  We are aware of this issue and we’re updating them as we get new artwork.  So don’t sweat it too much, all the badges will eventually be converted over.

So, on with the notes!

Patch Notes (01.15.09):

  • Badges: Okay, so most people don’t read patch notes, but this one’s kind of important. We know there are placeholder and non-matching images for a number of badges.  We are slowly replacing these as we get new artwork.  This patch includes an update for a number of badges.  We are aware of this, and we are updating, I promise!
  • Fixed an issue with Race Numbers, you may notice your number reset to “00″. If this is the case, you probably had a number that wasn’t supposed to be allowed.  Ooooh, busted!
  • Fixed an issue with the Training Track in that you couldn’t get to the track from the RSN.
  • Updated the Help Section with updated verbiage.  Super exciting, no doubt.
  • Fixed an issue where a user couldn’t edit their Race Codes once they entered them, which meant if you messed up, you couldn’t fix it without closing and reopening the Race Code Redemption window. Entering Race Codes should now be 100% less lame.Fixed an issue with the RSN displaying long racer names too close to the track time and overlapping one another.  Now if your name is “Superfastracingtypecarthingthatdrivesreallyfastontheroad” you should be able to see your time.  I really hope that’s not your name.
  • Fixed an audio issue where upon exiting a race before you’ve finished (*cough*hax*cough*) the music for that particular track kept playing.  This should be completely fixed now.  Seriously, we got it this time.
  • Fixed a issue with the “Congratulations” pop-up after creating a new car.  It should now correctly display your name instead of, “Congratulations, Null”.  Unless your name is ‘Null’, everything is all good now.
  • Fixed the description of “Chick Hicks Green” to remove the word, ‘apropos’.  In theory, the new description is much funnier and easier to understand. You may be amused now.
  • Removed the old color, “Living Lavender Loca” and replaced it with a new silver color called, “Gray Vee”.  Apparently Silver is the new Lavender.
  • Other magically behind-the-scenes changes have also been incorporated in this build.  These range from performance to visual updates.

So there you go, another update, another week of awesome racing.

Keep in mind that we do read ALL of your feedback and comments, so if you’re happy with something, or you want to tell me how incredibly awesome and handsome I am, feel free.  Heck, you can even send suggestions on what you’d like to see in the upcoming launch of the game and we’ll make sure it gets to the right ears.

Well, until next time, kick some pipe!
